NEW STREET SIGNS
Have you noticed the new street signs on our Village public roads? The old gray and white street signs have seen better days - some were virtually impossible to read. The new signs have a whole new look - made of reflective with large black lettering on a white background and displaying the Village logo. The reflective material will make it easier for people to read the street signs at night.
TOBIN FRALEY EXHIBIT
AT BARRINGTON PUBLIC LIBRARY
Looking for something to do? Tobin Fraley, an accomplished photographer, writer and member of the Long Grove Artists Guild, is exhibiting his breathtaking photographs of the Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Preserve in Long Grove at the Barrington Area Library(505 N. Northwest Hwy). Also on display are Tobin's works that combine photographic images in juxtaposition with his writings.
The two-part exhibit, titled "A Study of the Reed Turner Woodland Nature Preserve" and "Black & White Images with Words," will be on display at the Barrington Area Library through the end of November.
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
With both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on Thursday, garbage pickup will be delayed by one day (ex.: Thursday's pickup will be Friday; Friday's pickup will be Saturday).
During the first two weeks of January, Waste Management will pick up Christmas trees for recycling on your regular garbage pickup day beginning January 5 and ending on January 16.
When disposing of your tree, make sure it is no longer than 6 feet in length, otherwise cut the tree in half and then place it at curbside. Any tree that is placed in a bag or that has tinsel on it will be taken as trash and will not be recycled. Should you dispose of your tree after the recycling dates, the tree will be picked up and disposed of as garbage.

raise the flag (originally double the size, and visible from a mile away) if it were safe to return; if the flag was lowered, it meant someone was looking for Druggen and he
should stay away. Lightening stuck the flag pole in the 1950s reducing it to its more
modest 40-foot height.
