Road Construction Notice

2022 Road Program Map

Dear Village of Long Grove Resident:

On behalf of the Village of Long Grove, we would like to notify you that Arrow Road Construction Company and their subcontractors are scheduled to begin work on the Village’s 2022 Road Maintenance Program on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, weather permitting.

The following roadways will be resurfaced as part of this year’s road maintenance program:

 Street                                           From / To
Oak Grove Drive               Illinois Route 83 to Illinois Route 22
Oak Grove Circle              Oak Grove Drive to Oak Grove Drive
Chickamauga Lane          Sumter Drive to Sumter Drive
Port Clinton Road            IL Route 83 to Forest Glen

Construction is scheduled to begin on Oak Grove Drive and Oak Grove Circle, then to Port Clinton Road and finishing on Chickamauga Lane.

The work will include asphalt pavement removal to a depth of 4,” pavement patching, new Hot-Mix Asphalt binder course, new Hot-Mix Asphalt surface course, restoration of disturbed areas, and other associated improvements. Shoulder restoration will include topsoil, seed and hydromulch. After you notice that the hydromulch is placed along the shoulders, we ask for your assistance in watering as you would your own lawn to help establish the grass.

These improvements will not change the roadway width or elevation.
All driveway aprons will be adjusted to match the new pavement edge as needed. Please note that neither the Village nor the contractor can be responsible for damage to private utilities that are in the public right-of-way, for example, pet fences or irrigation lines. If these utilities are damaged, it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to make repairs after the scheduled work is completed.
We recognize there may be times of inconvenience for you while the crews are working; however, we do not expect any of the roadways will be fully closed at any time during construction. However, there will be times the roadways will be limited to one-lane during construction operations. At those times, traffic will alternate directions under flaggers.

Mail and garbage pick-up will continue to run regular routes. We anticipate substantial completion of this project (with new pavement) in mid-June with final completion (all restoration and clean-up) by September 2, 2022.

If you require special assistance or should have any questions concerning this work, please contact our Resident Engineer, Kevin Hautzinger, at 847-821-6268 or khautzinger@gha-engineers.com, myself at 847-821-6231 or you can contact the Village Hall at 847-634-9440.

Sincerely,
