Reclamite Road Preservation Treatment 8/16 & 8/17

Sand being laid after a reclamite spray

The Village Board approved applying reclamite to the Village Roadways. Reclamite helps extend the life of a roadway by 5-7 years.

Starting on August 16 and continuing into August 17, the following roadways will be sprayed with reclamite: Indian Creek Road, Schaeffer Road, Roanoke Court, Dawn Court, Arlington Heights Road, Robert Parker Coffin Road, and Cuba Road.

It is a sprayed on rejuvenating agent. This treatment acts as a pavement preservative tool that helps seal out excessive moisture and seal in the asphalt oils to help extend the life of the roadway.

The process will include road preparation, application of the reclamite, application of a sand blotter to allow the agent to dry without tracking on vehicles and sweeping the sand blotter 2-3 days after application of the reclamite.

Residents are encouraged to travel alternative routes and use caution when passing road maintenance crews.

Please reach out to Village Hall with any questions or concerns.
