Stempel Lot Access Widening on Old McHenry Road

The Stempel Lot access on Old McHenry Road is getting widened. Residents are advised to use extra caution when driving around construction crews. 

The construction is scheduled to start on the Stempel access widening on Monday, August 15. The schedule is: 

• Monday, the existing apron would be removed, and the area prepared for the new apron, both the concrete curb and asphalt apron.
• Tuesday, the new concrete would be poured. (This may take place Monday afternoon, depending on progress.)
• Wednesday, forms would be removed, and final preparation for paving would be completed.
• Thursday or Friday, the asphalt would be paved and the access opened within an hour of the work being complete.

During the work, the access will be closed, and there will be signage to alert owners, residents and patrons that the stores are open during construction and that the lot can be accessed via Robert Parker Coffin Road.

During the work, there will also be temporary and periodic lane closures on Old McHenry Road.

During the lane closures, flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone.

Lane closures are not permitted before 9:00am or after 3:00pm.
